Brushable compound, 100% solids, filled with ceramic microspheres for abrasion protection. Surface Tolerant, specifically designed as a protective coating for metals when only mechanical preparation is possible and even in the presence of moisture. Excellent chemical resistance in the presence of caustics and acids. It is easily applied with a brush, roller, or airless spray.

Surface Preparation
Proper surface preparation is crucial for the long-term performance of this product. The exact requirements for surface preparation vary depending on the severity of the application, the expected service life, and the initial conditions of the substrate. All sharp edges and welds should be ground to a radius of 3 mm (120 mil) with an abrasive disc. Preparation should be at least St2 or St3 mechanical cleaning. This is typically achieved through initial cleaning and degreasing followed by mechanical preparation.
Mixing
Thoroughly mix the activator into the base using a mixing stick, scraping the sides and bottom of the container. Mix by weight, 2 parts Base to 1 part Activator. Mix thoroughly to produce a uniform, streak-free material. Never add solvents.
Application
Brush: Medium to stiff bristles of sufficient quality so that the bristles do not shed and adhere to the coating (epoxy-bonded brushes are better). Trim or use tape for a nap of <1″. Roller: Use a high-quality roller with a 1/8″ nap.
Application Temperature: Maintain temperatures between 55 and 95°F (17 to 35°C). Substrate: maintain between 45 and 105°F (7 to 40°C). The temperature difference between the substrate and the material should never exceed 10°F (5°C). The substrate should be at least 5°F (3°C) above the dew point. Do not apply if the relative humidity exceeds 90%. If necessary, heat the metal before surface preparation using an electric heater or heat lamp. Never use gas, oil, or kerosene heaters, as they will leave a greasy residue on the metal surface. For best results, keep all materials in the warm area overnight (75°F+) to facilitate mixing.
