The flotation cell was suffering from extreme chemical attack due to the presence of sulfuric acid (as well as NaSH and hydrogen sulfide gas) during its process. Taurus TS4 and Taurus TS2RC products were applied to protect the equipment from the mentioned sulfuric acid. After the equipment received abrasive blasting with white metal, Taurus TS2RC was applied in a bluish-green color. On top of the Taurus TS2RC layer, the Taurus TS4 layer was applied in red color, covering an area of 120 m² of the interior. This was done to allow for easy visual inspection, as when the top layer of Taurus TS4 begins to degrade, the underlying layer of Taurus TS2RC will be easily identifiable.

These coatings were chosen for the project due to their high chemical resistance and light abrasion (fine particle) resistance.
